The message is clear – tranquility, simplicity and nostalgia. The journey to obtain his Eagle Scout award enhanced David's visual perspective and admiration for all facets of nature and people. His interest lies in a more simpler time when neighbors knew each other and family was most important; a time of tranquility and simplicity of the heart. This is the driving core for all of David's art. "The substance comes from deep within the heart" David relates, "I choose subjects that are positive and encouraging reflecting the joy of life." Sun infused colors, various moods of nature and thoughts of a simpler time inspire him to create a view of his world that is unique in design, elating and at times impressionistic. Whether photographing images of nature or the charms of daily life, David wants the viewer to connect with the image in a special way. With a peek into a world that most of us walk past everyday, David Huffines wants the viewer to awaken a memory, a fantasy, to see the world with new eyes – to see beyond seeing. David says, "I want people to be pulled into the image. My goal, as an artist, is to capture the essence of my subjects in the most pleasing way. The observer is invited to bond with the subject in a process intended to enlighten and inspire. That is why I add written story to each piece of art. I believe that this intensifies the visual experience." Each work of art purchased comes with a story written straight from the artist heart. "Life lessons", David says, "are what I call the stories. Some are very entertaining and others will make you cry. My objective is to invite people into the world they are viewing, to sit down and talk with me for moment before they leave to attend to their busy lives." "Although my work looks great over the sofa", comments David, "I want to accomplish more as an artist. I want to share an interpretation of the beauty and mystique that surrounds us all. I like to think of my images as an open door that leads the viewer on a journey to see with new visual perspective." Enjoy a browse through the electronic gallery. Though all pieces can not be exhibited, this is just a small sampling of a vast collection.
